	The positions listed below have to be filled each week to run a smooth operation. Each parent is encouraged to volunteer during the season. This process makes for great season experience and lifts the load for all involved. Many hands make light work!

Why do we need everyone’s help? SLYF & SLYC is run entirely on the backs of volunteers. There are no paid positions within the organization. Your help is needed to make our organization a success. What is needed? It takes approximately 50 people to cover all the jobs for just one home game! We have 8 scheduled home games and a host of other jobs necessary to run SLYF & SLYC. Some positions require more of your time and commitment such as Board Members; Coaches; Team Parents & Weigh-In Representatives. Others are smaller duties filled on a weekly basis. For example: Field set up & take down; Merchandise table; Concession stand & BBQ; Collecting money at the gate & selling 50/50 raffle tickets. What benefits will your child receive if you volunteer? Your child’s program will grow stronger with each family that is dedicated to its success. By participating the children have someone available to coach their game, set up fields, hand out equipment and announce their accomplishments on the field among other things. In addition, funds received from gate collections and the concession stand sales go toward the program. So where do registration fees go? Registration fees are used to cover costs necessary to keep SLYF & SLYC running. For example, insurance, referees & EMS for games, annual dues paid to the Leagues, uniforms, user fees for field use as well as field and equipment expenses. There is no money in the budget to cover the costs we would incur without the help of volunteers. You are a necessary part of this organization! Remember: You have the flexibility to choose when you want to volunteer and which jobs interest you. There are many great families within the organization. Grab a friend and volunteer together. Sports Writer SLYF is looking for someone with a heart for the game of football. Someone who can put that passion into words. We would like to be able to post write-ups of each game on the website as well as submit them to the local newspapers. Gatekeeper Meet and greet all our game attendees and collect voluntary game donations. Show your Warrior Spirit! Mite Game arrival time is 1 hour before game. Concession Stand Help serve the hungry and the thirsty while they watch high intensity sports action. Mite Game arrival time is 1/2 hour prior to start of game. Time Keeper Can you keep time? Or do you lose total control in the face of an intense game of football. Help to run the time clock and the time will pass quickly. Chains Keeper First and 10, second and 3, or 3rd and goal. Help keep the attendees involved in the game by keeping track of where the ball is.
